Recently I’ve been attempting to produce digital sets to widen our options for shooting. This shot was done in the studio with Angela shot on a plain grey backdrop.

The window, wall and floor were built and rendered in 3D and the cityscape was from a shot I took in Sydney earlier this year.

I asked Angela to model our new masks during our recent shoot which she kindly did.

If you like the idea of a bit of mystery, they make for an interesting shot and I’m sure they could form the inspiration for some very cool shots.

Had a big day yesterday shooting work with Angela Hill and Sex Kitten lingerie (www.sexkitten.com.au).

Angela we know well on here but this was the first time I’d shot Sex Kitten lingerie and clothing.

I have to say, client or no client, the clothing was simply stunning, so high quality and just looks gorgeous in photos. I wish I had a truck load of their underwear for clients to use in shoots

Karen and I work from a large house half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and, as well as the studio downstairs, we have been adding props to shoot around the house to give clients more options for backgrounds for artistic, portrait or fashion shoots.

Karen created a Native American inspired costume that Angela modeled at the end of the shoot on our new Indian doors. The new Chaise got a workout, as did our new antique chair.

The latest prop we have bought is a wingback chair in an antique style.

Today I used the chair for the first time for an artistic nude shoot with Alinta.

This, as well as our other new props, are available for any shoot you wish, whether it’s artistic nude, a model folio, or for portraiture.

I have just been on a spending spree buying some props to give clients more options when shooting.

One of the more elegant items is our new chaise lounge. After a long search we managed to track this one down in Melbourne and had it shipped up just intime to shoot Alinta on it today.

This, as well as our new props, are available for any shoot you wish, whether it’s artistic nude, a model folio, or for portraiture.

Went down to Sydney in February and took this shot on the Canon 5D Mk2. It was stitched together from 3 shots and the original totals 15000 pixels wide.

This is the lens that sits on the camera most of the time. It’s simply perfect for so many applications and has a huge useful zoom range. On a full frame camera the 24mm is very wide when you need it without having to swap to the 17-40mm.

F4 for me is fine, studio flash work does not really allow for anything like F2.8 so again, like the 70-200 I have the weight advantage of a few hundred grams.

It has image stabilisation (although not the directional options of the 70-200mm) and I guess the best description of this lens is that it’s not exciting, but it does what you ask of it and delivers excellent results every time.

It would be so much cooler if it was white though, like Canon’s zoom lenses
