Photoshoot with Kate Marsden

Written by admin
August 13th, 2010

Kate owns and runs her own model agency (www.kateyes.com.au) and on Thursday we photographed Kate for her folio and promotion.

Kate and our very own Karen styled the shoot. I did the camera bit. The red dress, the 1920’s outfit and wig and the long black boots are new additions to our ever increasing wardrobe, all of which is available for your shoot.

The shots looked great and I couldn’t be happier with how they went so here they are.

It’s been a little while since I compiled a review of recent work so here’s some shots we’ve worked on lately. Just click ‘readmore’ to view the gallery.

Our main site contains all of our galleries which contain hundreds of images. Click here for artistic, fashion, boudoir, fantasy and portrait photo galleries.

We are always adding options for your shoot and we’ve just added some shots to the folio that use some new props and backgrounds. Click below to see our set and prop options.

The following gallery contains shots that use our set and props in different ways. All the backdrops we have here, many of the featured clothing items we also have here for your shoot, depending on sizes.

All these shots were shot at our home studio and any of these styles can be used for your shoot.

Our shoot with Trixie

Written by admin
July 22nd, 2010

Women and wine, two things that seem to get better with age it would seem :-) A couple of weeks ago we photographed Trixie, who is 48, and was looking for a unique gift for her partner.

We had a great shoot, Trixie looked fabulous and here are the shots to prove it.

Thank you to Trixie for permission. We don’t get permission that often from clients over 30 which is a shame, so many thanks to Trixie and Chris for allowing us to share some of their photos.

We also got a pretty cool email about the shoot from Trixie:

Hi Dean & Karen,

Thank you so much for an amazing experience. I believe that every woman nearing fifty should have a glamour photography session with you two. The boost to one’s self esteem and confidence is very empowering, as you have the ability to make us all look beautiful and sensual.

You very delicately and supportively nurtured me through the whole process and I am absolutely delighted with the results. The lingerie and artistic nude  photographs have amazed and delighted my partner. Despite being a bit nervous, I found that it was a very liberating experience, and you made it fun and enjoyable.

The quality, professional polish and creativity you apply to the finished photos is beyond expectations, so much choice that it is hard to narrow it down to a select few photos.

Thanks so much again, and I would be most happy to recommend Dean Agar Photography to all my friends and family.

Kindest Regards,
Trixie

Musician themed shoot with Hayley Jones

Written by admin
July 19th, 2010

Hayley is an aspiring musician and professional dancer and as music is a huge passion of mine and dance a huge passion of Karen’s, we had to shoot something with Hayley.

Make up was by Carly Stensness. I couldn’t be more happy with this shoot. We all put in a lot of effort and got some varied and pretty great shots. Karen styled as always, and made a few of the outfits.

Here’s some of the shots.

Boudoir and fashion shoot with Kennis

June 30th, 2010

Last week we photographed Kennis. We’ve had some really enjoyable shoots lately and this was yet another one.

Kennis was very excited and that makes such a difference to a shoot as that energy is infectious and you start experimenting and playing around with shots so it’s great fun all round.

I’m very happy with the way the shots turned out as we tried a few different things and I’m grateful to Kennis for permission to use them in the folio and here.

Boudoir shoot with Jennifer

June 17th, 2010

We now have a new travel record for a client :-) We’ve photographed people from Melbourne, Sydney, New Zealand, India, USA, England etc but never anyone who drove 15 hours to get here, specifically for a shoot.

Luckily Jen stayed with relatives the night before so she was fresh and energized for the shoot.

One thing I rarely mention, which I should, is that 90% of the people we shoot are normal people (awful word i know), in that they are not models and most have never done a shoot before.

For us there’s a lot of joy taking a journey with someone to show them that they look great, and watch their confidence in themselves grow through the day as they begin to see themselves as we see them.

I hope Jen won’t mind me saying here that she was very nervous, and none too confident when we started. But she took the brave step of doing a shoot with us, and now she has the following shots to show everyone what her husband has been telling her for a long time. She looks amazing and now she has the photos to look at every time she doubts it in the future :-)

Shoot with Becky

Written by admin
May 28th, 2010

Last week we had a shoot with Becky and she has kindly allowed us to use the photos here on the blog.

I’m very pleased she did, as we rarely get permission from anyone over 30 these days. That makes our folio look like we only shoot 20 somethings. In reality we shoot from 18-60 (and older if you’re up for it) in, nude, implied, lingerie etc, but as people get older, permission to use the shots tends to not happen as much. Shame really as that just permeates the myth that quality is reliant on age, and that’s not right.

Anyhoo, here’s some shots of Becky, (who is 37 and looking great on camera).
