Nude shoot with my Karen (plus a couple of shots of me)

Right before Karen got breast cancer last year I shot her nude (no hair or makeup) as a test for a new lens, or a new light, I don’t actually remember.

We had planned to re-shoot and do professional hair and makeup but cancer got in the way and the shoot was put aside. We had a look through the shots and decided to retouch a few as it will still be a little while till Karen is happy with her hair to shoot again.

She was 50 at the time and will be 52 when we eventually shoot her again later this year and I think she looked and still does look fantastic. So for all of those ladies out there contemplating a shoot remember that Karen has been there and knows how you will be feeling. We strongly believe that you cant truly know how your clients will feel if you have not experienced that yourself.

We are constantly asked if we shoot older ladies as our folio is slanted towards the younger ones. The fact is that our most common age is 42yrs but we don’t get permission very often to use this age group in our folio.

Just for fun, I’ll throw a couple of of myself, Dean Agar, so you can see what I look like too. I never went nude, it’s not a good look for me! I also threw a couple of shots of Karen and I.

Those shots are hard, as I light us, focus, and set the camera to shoot at 5 second intervals, so what we get is pretty random, but it’s who you’ll be shooting with. We love this stuff, and love shooting people.

Pat and Brian at home in Byron Bay

This week we traveled to beautiful Byron Bay to shoot Pat and Brian in their home overlooking the gorgeous Tallow Beach. Pat and Brian don’t mind us revealing they are in their early 70’s but you would think they were 20yrs younger. Maybe it is that fresh beach air.

In the past 6 months we’ve worked with Bec Whitehead 3 times. The first was a music video for her single ‘Fever’ and then two photo shoots, the first of which was for Bec when she was listed as one of the Gold Coast’s sexiest people, 2012.

Couples shoot with Sean & Jay

Today we had a fantastic shoot with Sean and Jay. Throughout the shoot we had assumed they had known each other for years when in fact they met yesterday for the first time. This is what professional models can do, and they were certainly professional in every way. They make it look so easy and we believe they are a couple. They were wonderful to work with and 2 very nice individuals. We go so many amazing shots in just 4hrs it was hard to narrow them down.
