Fantasy shoot with Hayley
August 7th, 2010
It’s been a little while since I compiled a review of recent work so here’s some shots we’ve worked on lately. Just click ‘readmore’ to view the gallery.
Our main site contains all of our galleries which contain hundreds of images. Click here for artistic, fashion, boudoir, fantasy and portrait photo galleries.
We are always adding options for your shoot and we’ve just added some shots to the folio that use some new props and backgrounds. Click below to see our set and prop options.
The following gallery contains shots that use our set and props in different ways. All the backdrops we have here, many of the featured clothing items we also have here for your shoot, depending on sizes.
All these shots were shot at our home studio and any of these styles can be used for your shoot.
Today Erin and I did a shoot which is our first together since 2007. That shoot had some great shots and one of them is still in the top 10 of all time in the fashion section of Photo.net when viewed by ‘Aesthetics’ so we had something to live up to
Photo.net has 3 million shots on there and the top rated lists contain 3000 shots so it was a pretty big deal for us to get in the top 10 there.
This shoot was to show off our new sets and experiment with what we could do with them in a vintage boudoir kinda style.
Karen styled and Erin did her own hair and make up and I pointed the lights and camera. It was a long day and we have a truck load of shots to retouch so keep coming back as Erin’s gallery below will grow over the next week or two.
All the new sets are available to use in any of our packages and most of the clothing and accessories in the shots are ours for you to use.

After what seems like an eternity our new sets are in and ready to shoot. It’s been a long time as we had to go to China to get what we wanted and even then it had to be made for us. We ordered them last September so it’s been a while, then we had to wait weeks for the special wallpaper for the set walls. It’s been a trial of waiting and a lot of hard work but it’s finally done!
Angela, our regular model for model folio updates, is currently doing a dance contract in Macau at the Hard Rock Hotel so we had to look elsewhere this time. I might be biased (Ang is my step daughter now
but she is a very hard act to follow.
Yesterday we shot Elisha for our folio and she was wonderful. I first met Elisha a couple of years ago as she works in a local store. I made a mental note then that if I was ever short of a great model I would ask her. Well that day came and she did a fantastic job. How on earth no one has asked her to model before I will never know.I hope someone notices her now she has some good shots.
I also have a shoot with Erin Bigg. I was lucky enough to shoot with Erin a few years ago. Since then we have both done pretty well in our fields and we see Erin regularly as she does make up for some of our clients.
In modelling Erin has done so much since she last was in front of my camera (she is in Ralph this month for example) so I cannot wait to shoot her on Tuesday. Keep an eye out for the shots as we are going for a real vintage boudoir, Dita Von Teese, Moulin’ Rouge kind of a thing. Going to be so much fun!
All the furniture, sets and clothing in these shots are part of our new items and are available to use in any of our shoot packages whether you want to shoot boudoir, fashion, artistic etc. If you wish to shoot with us contact Dean (dean@deanagar.com.au, 0438 775299) or Karen (0402 230 669 – karen@deanagar.com.au)
I will be adding to this gallery over the coming days, so check back for more.

Last year 3D Artist magazine in England approached me for an interview and to use some of my fantasy images in an article which is always a nice thing when it happens. Good for the ego and anyone in a creative environment will have a little bit of that in them
I have a tiny, almost invisible bit but it likes to be noticed now and again, then it goes away for a while.
The mag is a very good one if 3D and creative graphics are your thing so I was naturally pretty tickled to be in it and I’d like to thank Duncan, the editor, for his interest in my work.
In Australia the magazine will take a bit longer to hit the streets than in the UK but it should be around and the cover is below so when you see it out there, you’ll know which one it is.
The official 3D Artist site is here.

Things have been so hectic recently that I’ve not had a moment to do any blog updates so this is the first one in a while.
Last week Belinda and her 14 year old daughter, Shannon, came in for a fun shoot. We shot a couple of fantasy shots with Shannon playing ‘rock chick’ using a digitally added stage.
Belinda did a few elegant evening wear shots and they did a couple of fun ones together.
Here’s some of the shots. Thanks to Belinda and Shannon for allowing me to use their shots here.
This week I created a progression video of some of our recent fantasy photos. The video shows the different elements and how they come together to make the final images.
If you’re interested in a fantasy photo please contact Dean (0438 775299 – dean@deanagar.com.au) or Karen 0402 230669.
The video below is in standard definition. A HD 720p version is on YouTube here (this will open a new browser window).
Shooting so much that I’ve not had much time to get things on the blog so I’m happy to have finished these shots from a shoot that was done on Monday as it’s always nice to shoot and have the shots up in the same week.
For Jennifer’s 18th birthday her mum, Helen, gave her a shoot with us as a gift.
Jennifer had the clear idea of a glamour vintage boudoir style, she prepared her own make up wonderfully and she really nailed the look.
The shoot was fun and working on the images was great as I decided to take them in a grungier vintage direction. Not sure yet whether Jen will choose the conventional black and white/sepia/colour versions, or these ones but these are my faves from the shoot.
Thanks to Jen for allowing me to use them here.
