Family photoshoot with Rennae & her amazing girls

By Dean Agar Photography

November 7, 2018

This is the 3rd session in our inspiration series of family photoshoot sessions. We focus on a family that has undergone a traumatic or transformative event for these free family photoshoot sessions. Each has emerged with a story to tell which we hope will inspire others. Because Rennae’s story broke our heart and we had to gift her a free session.

Rennae & her 3 beautiful girls, Yvette, Monique & Josephine will always treasure these images. After years of trauma and stress, Rennae felt it was now time for her little family to have some professional photographs done. This would be for the first time after little Monique was nearly fatally burnt in an accident 2 years ago. This strong little family was an absolute inspiration to us. We loved documenting this milestone in their life, and, what a brave and positive little girl Monique is.

This is Rennae’s story. . .

I’m a single mum and this is a very brief version of my story:

2 years ago, I almost lost my daughter. She was staying at her dads when she was badly burnt. She was treated in hospital but her condition kept deteriorating. Her little heart and lungs stopped working and she was put on life support.

After many sleepless nights next to her hospital bed, I watched her start to improve. She is now doing great (although still in a pressure suit). We still have regular hospital visits every couple of months, but her personality and determination is incredible.

I was pregnant at the time of her accident and our whole life was just put on hold and thrown upside down. We are only now finding balance again. I’m not sure how I managed a new born baby with everything that was going on, but I somehow got through it on my own and now have 3 beautiful, happy girls.

I’d like to draw a line in the sand and acknowledge that all the stress and heartache is behind us, and we are all a little stronger from it. When I heard of your inspiration series, I thought what better way to mark the occasion than with a photo shoot of my little family as we are now (me and my three princesses).

About our family experiences . . .

We offer both print and digital collections with printed books and wall art as additional options. You have the use of all of our props, sets, wardrobe & accessories for your session and we view the images and make selections immediately after the session, so there is no need to make time to come back for a viewing. It is best to try to coordinate outfits and colours for one of these session. Whites and creams work very well, especially in our natural light studio. Jeans always work. It is also a good thing to bring a dark outfit in for each as well for a different, more dramatic look.
